Approach
My work is grounded in Emotional Strength, Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy (AEDP), Core Self Reclamation Therapy (CSRT) and psychodynamic psychotherapy. My real-life experience in law, journalism, long-term relationship and parenting also inform my work as a therapist.
Emotional Strength® is the ability to respond in an open and vulnerable way in the face of intense emotional experience. Emotional Strength allows people to feel deeply into all emotion experience, opening up vulnerability and emotional responsiveness, allowing people to heal from past experiences, tap into innate adaptive capacities, and respond to life’s challenges in more productive ways.
AEDP™ is a healing oriented, mind-body experiential approach that integrates attachment theory, contemporary affective neuroscience, developmental research and somatic therapies. AEDP heals trauma and helps undo aloneness by championing the innate healing capacity of neuroplasticity in a safe, attached, therapeutic relationship, seeking to help clients recover their sense of core self and experience increased vitality.
CSRT is an experiential psychotherapy with roots in affective neuroscience, attachment theory, and memory reconsolidation research. Its therapeutic stance honours the client’s wholeness to help them meet and reclaim parts that are wounded, so that the core self can be reclaimed.
Psychodynamic psychotherapy explores how present-day difficulties can be influenced by past experiences, attachment patterns and unconscious beliefs.
“The doors to the world of the wild Self are few but precious. If you have a deep scar, that is a door, if you have an old, old, story, that is a door … If you yearn for a deeper life, a full life, a sane life, that is a door.”
